How It All Began
The prayer of Psalm 39 starting from verse 4 says, “Oh Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am...surely all mankind is a mere breath!” This psalm has challenged me for years to live with an eternal perspective. If this life is but a breath then each day can be an opportunity to serve the One I will spend forever and ever with. It seems like a “no-brainer” on paper…life on earth is temporary, eternity is forever, however, the challenge lies with keeping this perspective when the here and now beckons our attention every moment of the day.
I want to live as if life is short. As if Christ – not this world – is my treasure. I want to know God more and more. I want to live as one who is open for Him to do whatever He wants with my life. This is my journey.
“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
