I HAVE A HOUSE!

Oh there is so much to say, I am not quite sure where to start…but know this, building a house in the middle of a very remote location that has no road or airstrip or store is not for the faint of heart. The Lord did this. I say that in full confidence because on my own, it would have never happened. Ever.

From gathering the right builders and providing financially for them to come to miraculously fixing generators so we could charge batteries and parting the clouds so we could land the plane, God kept us safe through road, river, and air travel and in just 10.5 days of work on the ground, I have a sweet 480sq foot house. I have tried to share a lot through social media after both the build trips but I know not everyone has facebook or instagram so I have included some pictures below. If you have any questions, please email me back and I would love to answer them!

It is definitely a season where I am seeing God provide again and again amidst circumstances that are stacked up against me. So many memories of God’s faithfulness. Sometimes it came through seemingly huge miracles like providing an air drop of essential supplies right when we needed it, but then there were other simple moments where He showed me glimpses of the hearts of those I have come to serve. There was one day on the first build trip that two of the guys were cutting into the hillside and taking the ground to build a platform for my water tanks. I overheard one of the guys getting pulled away to help with something so I jumped in to help Nasan. Well, I over estimated my ability in being a help. ;) We didn’t have normal shovels and Willy/Nasan had made it look easy. The sun was blazing down on us, the ground was hard and before I could even think, “I can’t do this”…I looked up and there were 3 Bisorio women and about 20 kids that came over and jumped in to help on their own. One of the mamas quickly grabbed the makeshift shovel from me and I humbly worked with the kids grabbing the dirt/clay and packing it down. Tears filled my eyes. “I get to live here.” In this simple moment God showed me that I will never be alone in here. He is with me and Lord-willing deep friendships will be built that will lead to deeper discipleship which will overflow and impact eternities. (pray with me for that!)

THE HOPE IS TO MOVE INTO BISORIO FEBRUARY 27th!
We decided it would be best to move in during a time one set of my co-workers were in the country. The Kennells come back at the end of the month and I can’t wait to see them and go in with them!! Bob and Noby will be in Bisorio about 6-weeks discipling and teaching, but mainly checking translation of the Old Testament. The hope is that by the time they are heading back to the US, I will be settled in Bisorio and be good to continue living there until their next visit in the fall. First order of business for me is to learn the Bisorio language! (more on that in a future update!!)

THANK YOU to those that prayed for all the details of the house build, join in the praise of what God did! Thank you to those who give monthly or who have supported me…I will never take your commitment lightly as God is using you to sustain and move this work forward, it is an honor to partner with you for the sake of the gospel.

loveya…next update will be from my new home in BISORIO!!

Here is a video my friend Dan made that came and over saw the 1st Build Trip in January.
