B I S O R I O

If you haven’t seen the social media post, know this... the waiting is over, I am an official member of the Bisorio Team partnering with the most dynamic duo that I respect so much, the Kennells and the Walkers!   Bisorio is a work that was started in the 80s when these two couples shared the hope of Christ and by faith a church was born. And yet all these years later, in this unique season of the church, there is a significant need for further discipleship of the women and the youth and that is where I come in.
A year ago I found myself going into Bisorio with Bob and Noby Kennell and I had no idea my story would unfold the way it has. After coming back to our mission’s center, we proposed the idea of me joining this work to leadership and because of the uniqueness of this situation it took some time to sort through. Those who have been reading these updates have seen me asking for prayer regarding this opportunity and YOU have been faithful to pray.  On August 31, 2023 we were given the green light and on September 1st we went into Bisorio for almost 3 weeks and let them know it was going to happen. The Bisorios too have been praying and believing the Lord would make a way as this whole thing was their idea to begin with!! They never gave up hope.

THE STORY…

I think I have decided that gradual revelation about how this all started, unfolded and what is the hope to come will happen in time versus writing a novel of an update right now, but just know the Lord’s hands are so evident in this whole thing. I don’t know why I ever doubt. As I look back, I see how He has continued to weave my story together for His purposes...times that look like setbacks or delays turn into the very opportunities He uses to bring about HIS purposes and to move us from what we think is our plan to putting His plan into action. I couldn’t have thought this up if I tried and if I hadn’t lived it, I am not sure I would be choosing it – HOWEVER – I am so grateful. How sweet that the Lord knows me and sees the ways He has made me and equipped me for such a time as this amongst these particular people…with this incredible team.

The Apostle Paul writes in Colossians 1:27-29... “To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that He powerfully works within me.”
God made Himself known among the Bisorios - Christ in them, the hope of glory and we continue to toil, struggling with all the energy Christ supplies and powerfully works amongst us to teach everyone with wisdom and to present everyone...EVERYONE mature in Christ. It will be a crazy journey ahead and I am grateful for the team (each one of YOU) the Lord has surrounded this work with.

WHAT IS NEXT/PRAYER REQUESTS!?

My days are full preparing to build a tiny house of about 400 square feet in the middle of the jungle that has no road or airstrip, no city electric or water to pipe into...and most importantly no home depot to run to when you forget something! PLEASE PRAY – this house will be built as a testimony of God’s provision because the timing and resources are limited, weather is unpredictable and many things could go wrong...but GOD is able! Also I am so out of my element and yet, friends have come alongside me and are gracious and helpful!!

Lord-willing our first build trip will be December 12-18th and our second trip will be one week in January to finish up the house and get it livable for me before the Kennells return to PNG. This would allow my first 6 weeks to be with them as I adjust to living so remotely before they head back to the US. TWO THINGS: 1-The guy overseeing my build is INCREDIBLE and I COULD NOT do this with out him. He is coming from New Zealand for the first build trip and if you’d like to contribute to his plane ticket let me know and 2 - I am putting together an AMAZON wishlist of items needed for my house, if you’d like to help contribute, let me know and I will send you the link.

  BEYOND all the logistics that are needed for these next 3 months....P L E A S E pray the Lord prepares my heart to live amongst the Bisorios and that my time with Him in this busy season continues to remind me of His sufficiency.
